Cartoon Madness
There is no doubt that this cartoon is offensive to Muslims, and their anger toward it is understood by me, but not what they're choosing to do with the anger.
They could have a protest against the cartoon, but instead the have a protest against Europe, with threatening signs.
They could have a protest at the Danish embassy, instead they bomb it.
All of this over a simple cartoon, yes a cartoon that justifies anger, but not a cartoon that justifies violence. But why are these Muslim extremists protesting this cartoon? Because the cartoon depicts them as violent and they don't believe that, so what do they do? Protest with violence, they might as well go out and say "the cartoon was right. I really am smuggling a bomb in my turban."
We see offensive cartoons every day. Cartoons that could invoke anger. Heck, if the president reads the Washington Post then he knows exactly what I'm saying. But you know what I've noticed over all of the people who get offended by cartoons? They forget about it, everyone does that but Muslim fundamentalists. Have we seen Bush put on camo, grab a sniper rifle and pick off certain Democrats? No! Nobody else is rioting like this, and certainly nobody is killing. We never saw American soldiers riot and kill people when they saw this cartoon,
And we never saw Jews riot and kill people when they saw this cartoon,
But that cartoon makes more than just one point. Don't forget that the people who made this cartoon are the same type of people who are out there burning Danish flags as I speak. This is beyond arrogance, and beyond hypocrisy. This is religious elitism. Muslims can can mock Christian or Jewish infidels all day and no one speaks out, but if someone makes a cartoon mocking Muslims there is a frag-fest. These Muslims think they are just plain better than everyone else, which is why we don't, and can't negotiate with Muslim terrorists, we kill them.

That's the middle East for you. In America if someone insults you, you ignore them. In the Mid-East I guess you're just supposed to kill them. I mean this is a place where people fire live ammo in the air to celebrate, but then that can lead to some funny stuff. My brother has informed me that on the Daily Show they had clips of some crazy terrorist firing a rifle in the air, and the ejected shells were hitting the guy next to him! Is that ironic or what?

In Islam law it is forbidden for anyone to depict Muhammed. What they don't understand is, it is only "forbidden" if you are Islam. The Danes are not Islamic, and don't have any problem with depicting Muhammed in a cartoon. But it infuriates Muslims (obviously!).
Please don't think I'm taking up for these extremists here. I certainly would never, ever do so. I am attempting to understand why they are so angry. But to be angry is one thing. I am angry when an artist gets a grant to depict a cross in a bottle of urine. (See one of my old posts on My Republican Blog.) That offends me greatly, but I don't plan on cutting off the Artist's head or call for the government to punish him.
Muslims need "Anger Management Classes." :)
Good post, Cody.
