WMD
There are so many obvious facts that prove the existence of Iraq's weapons, lets go over them.
1)
Iraq actually bought weapons from us! They made the promise that,
"we'll use them to destroy our enemy,"
Well technically they didn't break their promise. Bombing the Islamic terrorists was what we had in mind, for them to bomb. Those are enemies of both the Iraqis and us. But instead of using the weapons on them, he used them on the Kurds and Shiites! Their own people! Sure they're enemies of Saddam, but it wasn't what we meant.
2)
Unlike some people who own weapons, Saddam actually used them. Yeah you heard me. How could he use weapons on his own people if he didn't have any!
3)
Saddam did not just "destroy them" when he knew America was coming over, he hid them. Think about it, if the biggest army in the world was going to invade your country, would you just throw your weapons away? No. He either hid them in his own country, or lent them to
Al-Qaeda.
And yes it is possible for them to be in the hands of Al-Qaeda. There are connections.
http://www.nationalreview.com/murdock/murdock200407211107.asp
Still believe Saddam was weaponless? If you said yes, you are one arrogant person.
Mr. Liberal: But we didn't find any weapons, so that means there aren't any!
Wrong. Obviously Saddam hid his weapons when the UN came in, we knew he would do that. So if we let the UN tell us not to go because there were no weapons we would still have Saddam there gassing his own people, and laughing at the presidents face for being too stupid to forget the UN and go in anyways.
Iraq's size is 437,072 km big! Do you know how long it would take to go around with a metal detector, scanning every piece of bare desert, looking for the WMD's? I will attempt to do the math for this. We have say 1,000 UN guys with scanners, 10 people can scan one kilometer in one day. So if all 1,000 people are scanning, they can altogether scan 100 kilometers in one day. So if that cycle went on every day, nonstop. Which is very doubtful. They could scan the whole of Iraq in 4,371 days. That's over 11 years. And this is just hypothetical, in real life it would most likely take longer.
So did you really think the UN would find the WMD's? Of course not, and it's stupid to say they're not there just because the UN said so.
Hypothetically we could find the WMD's if we looked long enough. But in real life, that isn't going to work. The only way we will be able to actually find them is if Saddam actually tells us where they are.
Mr. Liberal: So if Saddam knows where they are, then why hasn't he told us yet?
Because he's not an idiot. If he were to tell us the location of the weapons it would ensure him the death penalty. Think about it, you're playing hide and seek with Saddam. But the rules are, if you find him you have to shoot him. You can't find him and you say "I give up," Do you think he would come running out saying "good game, your turn!" No! If I were Saddam I would prefer to live, wouldn't you?
Mr. Liberal: but... Um... Ah... You're lying! You don't know anything! You're just some right wing nut job who is killing Iraqi children!
I'm not lying, I'm stating the obvious. The truth is right in front of your Liberal face, and all you want to do is push it aside and keep looking. Come on guys, it really is this simple. He had weapons, he used weapons, he hid weapons, and idiots like you want to forget all that just for the sake of the Democratic party. Well I'll tell you right now, I don't do anything for the sake of anyone, I do it because I feel a lot better telling the truth than lying.
Mr. Liberal: You're still killing Iraqi children though!
Nice try but the only people we are attacking are Saddam's followers, and terrorism from across the border. You look pretty stupid standing for a stupid argument, loosing, then ending the conversation with a flame. Good day to you Mr. Liberal.
Mr. Liberal is a fictional character, but a realistic depiction of a Liberal.

It is quite interesting that you have not a single piece of evidence in that entire post. "I think" and "obviously" are not evidence. Find the weapons, and then maybe I'll believe you.

Evidence? The whole post was evidence! You really don't believe he was using weapons against his own people? Come on, that was proved.

Oh yeah, and I bet you didn't know, but almost every Democratic representitive (even John Kerry) wanted to go to war with Iraq with the suspicion of WMD's. And they were mad at Bush for not going in. So when he invaded Iraq, the Dems flip-flopped so they could once again make Bush look bad. I don't think there is such thing as a Democrat anymore, almost all of them have turned into anti-republicans.
Anyways, I'd like to see your proof that there are no weapons, seriously. I want to hear from both sides of the story.

It looks like the left wing socialist Tony Blair believes in the existince of these weapons.

The CIA gets it.

And to DKFZ who says going into Iraq was against UN rules, Saddam was breaking bigger UN rules. So, yes the invasion WAS neccesarry.
Al-Qaeda could be possesing Saddams weapons.

So why would you destroy your weapons if you could have a buddy hold them for you?

Does that make him right? No. Unless Mr. Powell has ties with Mr. Hussein and Bin Laden, then I find it very hard to believe him.
Somebody just saying there is none is not proof. The only way to know if they are there or not is to either find them or Hussein tells us where they are.
But in the meantime there is a lot more evidence proving that they are there, then they aren't.

My evidence is that NO WEAPONS HAVE BEEN FOUND.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2004-10-06-wmd_x.htm
You saying that he OBVIOUSLY hid them, is not proof that they were there. It's a theory, or an opinion, but it is not fact.
Democrats voted to go to war on the premise that there were WMDs existing as a threat to the US. The fact was later revealed that no, that was not true, and even if they DID have WMDs, they were much more interested in using them against Iran then the United States. The war then became about lies and excuses, and thats when some people, namely Democrats, stood up and took their stand against it. They didn't do it to make Bush look bad, BUSH MADE HIMSELF LOOK BAD, and they did it because it was the right thing to do. Even if you don't believe it was the right thing to do, they still had the right to do it.
It doesn't matter if Tony Blair or the CIA "thought" that there were WMDs in March, as the report that the searches were finished and none were found was released in November...

At 25/9/05 12:55 PM, Cody O'Connor said…
"My evidence is that NO WEAPONS HAVE BEEN FOUND."
But that doesn't mean they don't exist. It means Saddam is good at hiding stuff.
You do realize he gassed his own people right? Mustard gas is considered a weapon. And in order to use a weapon, you must posses a weapon.
Why do you think Saddam kept telling the UN to go home every time they got too close to them? Because they exist.
When the US brought an army to Iraq it's pretty hard to say "sorry this place is off limits," So he hid them in another country. Simple as that.

It's an excellent post, Cody! Hussein had more than enough time to hide or sell his WMD's. If I had several unregistered guns and I knew the authorities were going to be coming to my house to take them away from me and arrest me, the guns wouldn't be here when they got here. I know Sadam Husseing was a lot of things, but he wasn't stupid!

I have not said that he was a good man or that he wasn't hurting his people. But we went to war on the premise that Hussein was somehow threratening us with his WMDs, and that was very much FLASE. Just like DKFZ, it has been officially reported that there were none, yet you still insist that there are. Maybe you should hightail it over theere and find them before you call me blind or ignorant for KNOWING that none have been found and therfore having the right to say that they do not exist. Leads were even followed to other countries suspected of harboring Hussein's wepaons, and all the leads failed. If everyone was so convinced that they were there, we would still be searching for them.

What are we freeing them from? They weren't ALL being gassed to death, and now their entire country is in ruins. I do think that war is justified in some situations, but we went to war because they supposedly posed a threat to us. When we found out it wasn't true, oops, too late, so we made up excuse after excuse for being there, one of which happens to be "freeing" their people. Yeah right. Using their now chaotic lives as an excuse to protect our pride is absolutely embarrassing.

What are you talking about? We've already won the war in Iraq. The only thing we are doing now is protecting the citizens of Iraq from being killed. In my opinion the country is much better off with a democracy, and no one getting killed, and freedom, you know all of the stuff we take for granted.

Then it will be a safe place and we'll be able to come home.

Cody, there is an attitude with most liberals in this country that the United States is always to blame. We are the "evil empire." Some of these people take no pride in being American's at all. And they truly don't care about dictator's gassing or enslaving their own people. They would only care if Dictator's in this country were gassing and enslaving Americans. If it's not affecting them, then who cares? If American women are not being kept in bondage, uneducated, stoned to death for any infraction of the male domination whatsoever; who cares? They have proven that they do not care. Afghanistan just had a very successful election. How much of that did you hear on the news? Afghanistan is a success, but because it's good news and it makes the US look good, it's not being reported in-depth, as it should be.
For all who want to know what the Terrorists are really like I suggest the book: "In the Presence of My Enemies" written by Gracia Burnham. It's the true story of the "kidnapping of American missionaries and their year of terror in the Phillipine jungle." (quoted section is from the jacket of the book.) Of course, this book is about missionaries, with many references to God, so probably not too many will read it. But it definitely shows the hypocracy of Terrorists.
Example: One terrorists says: we fight for Allah. We do not steal." This, right after having stolen a gold wedding ring from one of the captives! What do they say their dreams are: To go to America and find a good job!???

And we still don't have him, but have managed to occupy a completely different country. Your motives contradict one another like crazy.

The reason you don't hear much about Afganistan is because most of the people there now are speacial forces. Not to mention the networks probably realized that showing the battle plans on national tv is a bad idea.
